SIFU THOMAS TANG

Sifu Thomas Tang is the first disciple of Grandmaster Luu Kiem Xuong, son of Great Grandmaster Luu Hao Luong who founded Vietnam Yun Yee Tong in 1935. Sifu Tang started Yun Yee Tong Traditional Kung Fu Academy in San Jose, California in 1995. Since then, Sifu Tang has been teaching Zhou Jia style Kung Fu and Traditional Lion Dance to over hundreds of students.

He has taught our senior, Austin Quach, for over fifteen years, honing in on his Kung Fu and Lion Dance skills before he started USA Qing Wei in Southern California.

SIFU LEON NG

Founder of Singapore Qing Wei Lion & Dragon Dance Cultural Troupe in 2011, Sifu Leon Ng has pioneered traditional lion dancing for all audiences. Leading his team to countless gold medals and championships throughout Singapore, Sifu Ng is a respected and highly regarded figure in the lion dance community.

Austin has been lucky to form a strong relationship with him and has been blessed to bring the Qing Wei name overseas in order to thrive and promote the culture in the US.

AUSTIN QUACH

For as long as he can remember, Austin has been interested in martial arts, lion dancing, and dragon dancing. He officially joined the Yun Yee Tong Traditional Kung Fu Academy in San Jose, California at the ripe age of nine years old, where he studied under the tutelage of Master Thomas Tang. Throughout the years, Master Thomas has coached Austin and provided opportunities to travel abroad in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, to study and refine the craft. His passion for promoting this aspect of Asian American culture has led to the development of the USA Qing Wei Lion and Dragon Dance Cultural Troupe, where Austin not only strives to further develop the culture, but educate and raise awareness to the significance of maintaining these arts. Winning numerous international awards and titles, Austin hopes to grow the team and provide fun and festive entertainment for all events!
